ASRC Aerospace Support of NASA Glenn Research Center

ASRC Aerospace is the prime support service contractor for the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.


ASRC Aerospace supports the Glenn Engineering and Scientific Services (GESS-2) contract which is an IDIQ engineering performance-based Task Order contract. Approximately two hundred and fifty technical service personnel are provided in support of over 200 technical tasks orders. Task responsibilities include systems engineering, analysis, design engineering, hardware and software development, fabrication procurement, configuration management, flight hardware integration, and testing of both Space and Aeronautic related tasks.


ASRC Aerospace engineers have supported a variety of hardware designs and integrations including build-ups, testing and/or modifications to various test cells at NASA/GRC.

    • Detailed Design and Analytical Services, Including Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, Communication, and Power Disciplines, Relating to the Ares/Orion Spaceflight and Research Programs

    • Computational Fluid Dynamics for Aircraft and Rocket Research

    • Space Technology Research (e.g., Ion Thrusters for Space Applications, Advanced Rocket Propulsion Systems), Space Power (Flywheel Energy Storage, Fuel Cells, Dynamic Solar Power Generation Systems)

    • Space Communication Research, e.g., Microwave Communication System Development, Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) Development

    • GRC Testing Facility Engineering Support Space Operations (e.g., Advanced Communications Technology Satellite) Conceptual Designs of New Flight Experiments and Aerospace Structures

    • Material Development of Advanced Composites, Including Polymeric, Metallic, Intermetallic, and Ceramic Matrix Composites

    • Microelectronic Component Fabrication Technique Development
