ASRC Aerospace plays key roles in supporting over 15 different space programs and initiatives within the Department of Defense (DOD). We support new military and nationally important spacecraft and their payloads from both a ground systems engineering and operations perspective to actual launch and mission operations, including the identification and analysis of mission anomalies.  Our highly skilled staff work with Air Force planners and engineers in the areas of requirements analysis, design reviews, software development, system architecture, testing and validation, mission planning, mission readiness and sustainment, orbit management, satellite commanding, data collection and processing, data distribution (real-time and non-real-time), and other aspects of space systems operations. ASRC engineers are directly involved in leading and supporting space systems Interoperability (using Air Force systems test various data formats and protocols), CRSS (using commercial networks to support military space vehicles for emergency situations), and VMOC (a web-based mission operations complex system). ASRC engineers support critical stand-alone R&D projects such as the Defensive Counter space Test Bed (DTB) and the follow on to DTB (operational phase) Interim Satellite as a Sensor (ISAS). In addition, ASRC Aerospace provides systems engineering and software engineering support at the RDT&E Support Complex (RSC), located at Kirtland Air Force Base and at the Center for Research Support (CERES) facility located at Schriever Air Force Base.
